Is someone reaching out across the veil…?
Dobry den and hi everyone :)! This week was full of spiritual growth for me. I keep trying to be better and more obedient, and I have noticed a big difference in how much I can feel the Spirit. We had specialized training last week where President came and spoke to us as well as the Assistants to the President, and I learned a lot, and if I have time I'll share. Maybe I'll just go by days this week, jestli to by slo! (if that's alright).
SO Monday- Preparation Day and nothing exciting to share, except that my scriptures have totally fallen apart again like my blue ones at home where the pages fall out, and I don’t know what the deal is! So I'm going to go try to find a store that'll fix it. I treat them so well so I don’t know what happens exactly. Anyway, the info place was closed last P-Day so maybe next :).

Our English class with Valentines we made.
Tuesday- we had English, and it was a riot. It was Valentine’s Day so I taught the lesson on funny Valentines words and had them all make Valentines for writing practice. It was fantastic as the photo shows. I love my English class! My creativity is starting to dry out, however, so if anyone has any ideas let me know! :) Anyone taught English before? They're so cute. My English babies.

Wednesday- haha this story is so funny, so I have to share it. So we had a meeting set up at a lady’s home. I found her in the pile [of former investigators] and gave her a ring (sometimes they [want to meet] which is a blessing). Anyway, so the week before last I found this lady, confirmed her name and address and set up an appointment. It was at a weird time early in the morning, but I set up anyway. We get there last Wednesday, she doesn’t answer the doorbell (they have those doorbells on apartments like in Finland), and right when we're thinking about just ringing everyone, this man who comes to Church and English walks out of the complex. I was like, “Uh hi! Whatcha doing?” and his mom lived there, and he was there to shovel snow and let us in.

We get to the lady’s apartment who has the meeting, no one answers. So we ring her neighbor's doorbell. He opens and is talking THROUGH his throat. There was a hole punched into his throat so it sounded really interesting. He just kept saying over and over again in a raspy throat voice that she died last year, and the apartment is empty because her son owns it but is living with his girlfriend, so that was interesting. He knew her well, and she died last year... what? So I realized we still had 40 or so minutes, and so I asked if my companions wanted to [talk to other people]. I felt strongly we needed to go upstairs, but since I have an elevator phobia and won’t go into them, [some in our group] said [they were] sick of stairs and only wanted to go down not up. I kept pushing it and even said that the Martins (who were with us) and I could go up and the Sisters go downwards since they were willing. But [someone] insisted and [someone] rationalized so down we went. Nothing. Later that night Sister Brimhall told me that the second we started going down she had a voice come to her head that said, "We should be going up." but didn’t listen since we'd already stood up there having a mini debate about my feelings versus everything else piled against it.

Anyway, so that was a bummer, and she felt bad, but I told her we could just go back. BUT the story gets weirder. We got home to look at the lady's record, and Sister Brimhall had also called her in December, and she had told us to call back next week. WHAT? BUT all week after I set up with her, her phone wouldn’t work and said it wasn’t in order etc., and now we know it's because she is DEAD. Uhhhh....? I hope this story is making sense, hahah, so anyway, we went back and [talked to people on] the upper floors.... no success, but we still have two floors left. Don’t know WHAT the logical explanation is here since I confirmed her name and address, and right after I talked to her the next day her phone wasn’t available, but for now all the missionaries are calling it our ghost lady who is trying to reach out to someone across the veil. Aaahahaha, quite the story.
At Family Home Evening: Me, Jiri, Pavel.
SAME day this investigator was sitting in his lesson with the Elders talking about baptism since he's been investigating for a few months now. The member they had with them asked, “Are you going to tell your parents you're getting baptized?” He said, “No.” And the member said, “Why not?” And [the investigator] said, “Because they didn’t tell ME that they were baptized...” And the Elders said, “They were baptized? Into what church?” And [the investigator] said, “This one! Cirkev Jezise Krista Svatych Poslednich Dnu!” And the Elders were just astounded with their mouths open, I guess, and after a little bit more prodding [the investigator] told them his Mom was baptized 15 years ago and his father 3. I guess they are both less active, but it's crazy because [this investigator] was found on a tram by a member youth here just recently and totally independent of his parents’ membership. SO funny.

So we're trying to work with getting this family into the Church [where they live] and getting their son baptized! They need to be sealed you know?! :) Beautiful story if it works out. Pray for [this investigator]. He is GREAT. That boy has SO MUCH light in him now. He just brightens the Church up and is so funny everyone just dies, and anyway we love him, he is very special. I hope he serves. Everyone needs to serve! The work needs [him].
Us huddling in a phone booth one night while waiting for a tram because it was SO.COLD.
Thursday- [One of our investigators] cracks me up. He is really starting to change because of the gospel, and I love that. He is doing so well. He is reading and loving it and understanding concepts. Oh, and on Sunday we challenged him to read about Joseph Smith, and he said no. I said, “Why not?” and he said, “Because I already know the Book of Mormon is true, and in the Book of Mormon it says Joseph Smith is a prophet, so I don’t need to pray about that.” Good answer, and I smiled, but I still told him to pray about it, hahah.
Monday so yesterday- Sister Smith had to get her visa renewed (thank you Mother for getting me that EU passport), and so we went to Prague. I LOVE traveling. I love train rides. We got to Prague, and Sister Brimhall and I were allowed to run free. So we did, and we went to a MUCHA exhibit. He is a famous painter from the Czech Republic. It was great, and I was so happy to see something cultural. We wanted [to go to] the Communism museum but maybe next time. This was closer. BAH time is up already! An hour is so little! Just look forward to a year from now where I can show you pictures and talk for hours... that sounds fun to me at least, hahah.
Thank you again for your support and mails, and Mother thank you for the “Dear Elders”. [= letters through www.dearelder.com ] I LOVE getting mail, and surprise stuff is wonderful. Thank you so much! I love you all. Crazy that Daddy was in Prague again. It's such a beautiful place, huh?!
I love you! Church is true!
